Val di Sole, Italy home of UCI World Cup Downhill round three, was the last race on the schedule last season when Camille Balanche took the overall title. This year, the track named the Black Snake and known for being the most physically demanding track on the circuit, proved to be just as difficult as years past. Even the most difficult track couldn't stop Vali Höll from taking the win with a near perfect run.
Fresh off a win in front of her home crowd in Leogang, Austria, Vali Höll repeated with a victory in Val di Sole to take 2 World Cup Downhill wins in a row! Finishing second fastest in qualifying, Vali went on to win the semi-final and final in convincing fashion. Also in elite women's Camille Balanche finished second to keep her leader's jersey and overall series points lead.
More good news, after knocking at the door and a top 3 semi-final result in Leogang, Troy Brosnan breaks through with his first finals podium of the season in Val di Sole. This marks Canyon Factory's second podium in a row after Luca Shaw was on stage in Leogang. Bravo!
