Corona, Calif. (October 17, 2016) – Troy Lee Designs’ Taylor Robert and Kailub Russell stepped onto the glorious top step of the podium on Sunday as Team USA took its first victory at the International Six-Day Enduro (ISDE) since its inception over 90 years ago. Navarra, Spain hosted the 2016 ISDE and kept things challenging, but Team USA and Robert couldn’t be caught, with Robert claiming the top spot out of the trophy class riders, while Russell was seventh.
On Day 1, the team of six riders completed the day on top of the standings and had a target on their back going into Day 2. Russell had his best day where he finished second, while Robert was third.
With the other nations gunning for Team USA, the riders stepped up their game and extended the lead to over 30 seconds after Day 2. But it was on Day 3, Day 4 and Day 5 that the team would work together to extend their lead to almost four minutes heading into the final day, a motocross style competition.
Heading into the final day, it would be hard for other teams to gain time during the motocross race and when the final checkered flag was thrown, Team USA won the overall by three minutes and 38 seconds over Great Britain.
In addition to Team USA taking home the big trophy, Robert claimed top honors as fastest rider during all sixth days. Russell remained solid throughout the length of competition, eventually finishing an impressive seventh overall.
All week, Robert and Russell represented Team USA sporting a custom TLD jersey, which was paired with the
SE Air Caution Blue and White pant. Robert also wore a
SE4 Helmet. See more of the
