GLENDALE, ARIZ. (January 27, 2018) – Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely overcame slick and tough conditions inside University of Phoenix Stadium to collect 12th at the fourth round of the Monster Energy Supercross series. With three solid rounds under his belt, Seely had to come from the back of the pack to finish just outside the top 10.
The night didn’t start out like Seely hoped as he had to come through the pack in his heat race after going down in the first turn. He made it up to sixth, good enough for a direct transfer to the main event where he hoped to improve his start. While he didn’t go down, he had some positions to make up after starting 15th. Seely would push on the slick track and eventually finished 12th when the checkered flag flew.
“It wasn’t the night I was hoping for, but it was slick out there and hard to pass,” said Seely. “The track didn’t favor pushing forward and making passes so after starting where I did, I tried to move forward without making too many mistakes. We’ll regroup and get ready to be at our best in Oakland.”
Seely was showcasing the GP Jersey Prisma Black and GP Pant Mono Black during practice before switching it up and changing to the SE Air Jersey Megaburst Red and SE Pant Solo Black for the night show. He was also sporting a custom SE4 Carbon Helmet Maze Red.
