TLD/Red Bull/GasGas Factory Racing Enjoy Home Race in Southern California
Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing’s Michael Mosiman is stepping back into stride with an impressive return to the 250MX podium at Saturday’s Fox Raceway II National in Pala, California. In his second race back from injury, Mosiman delivered an awesome pair of 2-4 moto scores to claim second overall aboard the MC 250F.
Hungry for the charge in Moto 1, Mosiman immediately assumed the lead just after the start, developing a big gap early on. He put in a smooth ride out front until near the halfway point when he leaned the bike too far in a fast section and went down. Re-mounting in fifth, Mosiman went to work making up lost ground and he put himself into third just after the halfway mark. He stayed on the gas late in the race to overtake second, carrying it through the checkers in Moto 1.
In Moto 2, Mosiman was second off the start and he held strong when challenged in the opening laps. After pulling away for a bit, he dropped back to third and maintained a solid pace until two laps to go, when he was joined for the final podium battle. A small mistake cost him the podium and he ultimately finished fourth in the moto.
Mosiman: “Man, what a good day! It was a good day for the team and a good day for me with second overall in only my second race back after four weeks on the couch. I’m stoked on my riding and on my performance and I showed a lot of heart. I was absolutely drained after the first moto but I dug deep and was able to bring it home to fourth in the second moto. I’m looking forward to the home race next weekend in Northern California!”
