It was a great day last Saturday in Crawfordsville, IN where our very own Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull KTM Rider Brandon Hartranft, celebrated his career-first AMA Pro Motocross Championship podium in the 250MX class, scoring 3-4 for the day and a third-place overall!
Brandon Hartranft: “It feels great right now to have a weekend that the team and I have been working so hard for this entire year. I can’t explain how great it felt to finally have some great starts where I was able to put myself up front early so that I was able to throw down fast laps with those guys. This past weekend was just the push I needed to get my mind right moving forward because now I know that I belong up there.”st.
With comfortable temperatures throughout the day at Ironman Raceway made racing much better for Troy Lee Designs/ Red Bull/ KTM riders who qualified fourth (Hartranft), eighth (Drake) and fifteenth (Brown) last Saturday after the rough weather conditions from the two previous weeks at Loretta’s. In the opening moto while looking comfortable sitting in the fourth position off the start Brandon was able to quickly move into that third-place podium position and hold that spot the remainder of the first moto finishing on the podium. Backing up his Moto 1 finish Brandon quickly found himself in the same position as the first Moto but unfortunately was passed the last few laps by series points leader Dylan Ferrandis and finished fourth in Moto 2 but Third Overall for the day. Teammate Rookies, Derek Drake and Pierce Brown struggled to get good starts in the first Moto but were still able to maintain a strong pace around the loamy Ironman racetrack. They both had great starts in Moto 2 running in the 6th and 7th position for half the moto. Unfortunately for Pierce Brown he experienced a mechanical issue near the end of Moto 2 and was unable to finish. Derek Drake finished 10-12 for the day and 11th Overall with his best outdoor finish this year. We are looking to take the podium momentum that Brandon brought in Indiana to Red Bud this weekend where we will race a double header on Friday September 4th and Monday September 7th.
