Leogang, Austria marked the third downhill UCI World Cup race this season. A staple in the race series, Leogang also represented the home round for Sram TLD Racing's phenom Vali Höll. Riders traveled straight from Scotland to Austria for the first back to back weekend race of the series and the conditions we're prime.
Friday
Track walk day and the first day we got to see all the TLD bike guys and girls on the track in open practice.
Saturday
Saturday is when it starts to get serious and the rider's time now count for points in qualifying. Some highlights included Brosnan's 3rd place qualifying time, Vali taking the top spot in junior women's by over 18 seconds and Canyon Factory's Mark Wallace sliding in to the top ten.
Sunday
The long wait for race day was well worth it. Conditions were sunny and dry which made for a level playing field throughout the day. The big story of the weekend was Troy Brosnan grabbing yet another podium and backing up his fast qualifying time with a 3rd place finish to keep the leaders jersey. Vali Höll also turned some heads with her winning run that separated her by over 18 second from her nearest competition. Her time of 3:48.36 would place her third in the elite women's category. Crazy! Hats off to Kye A'Hern as well who had a stellar day and got on the podium to take home some silver in the junior men's category and we can't forget about Luca Shaw who continues to climb the leaderboard after an early season injury. Luca takes his first top ten finish of the year with 9th at Leogang.
